It's a comparison between a human being's life and the seasons. this is an analogy comparing the length of one's life to the seasons of the year. For example, a baby would be in the spring of it's life, young adults would be in the summer of their lives, middle aged folks would be in the autumn of their lives, and the aged would be in the winter of their lives.
