Each morning the pillow is full. I have had thyroid tests, the works. Even improved my diet. This is very distressing. Any suggestions?

Honey...you might have said it.

Stress!

It's normal to shed hair. I loose a handful with every shower and yes it's on my pillow case too.

Some people like us...just shed a little more than others.

But do maintain a balanced diet. Make sure you are taking vitamins. Make sure you are using an appropriate shampoo/conditioner.
Don't use a lot of product, they can damage hair if used more often or in more quantities than you need.

And don't wash your hair too much.
Your hair has natural oils that help keep the hair healthy.

cover your hair at night with a scarf or a bonnet something silky so that the cotton pillow does not break your hair and suck up all the nutrients and natural oils. You won't see an improvement right away but you will see it if you do it religious. moisture you hair before you go to sleep. also try using a silk pillow case if you don't want to use a scarf or bonnet. that might be the problem you don't protect it at night.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/2LgCq
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

Do you use hair dye regularly? That could be a factor, also get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks. We all lose hair every day but they will be replaced with new ones, I wouldnt worry too much.

do you wear your hair tied up as that can cause damaging and the end results could be what you have experienced. if not then consider keeping your hair in a shorter style for a while this will give your hair chance to strengthen.

Eat lots of protiens, and start taking multivitamins especially protien and iron ones and omega 3. Also it could be how your treating your hair, if you bleach it and colour it or even straighten or curl it i'd recommend stop it for a while and try taking these vitamins and there should be a difference. :)
