My son was just that age when our Dr found corn in his ear. We were at an ENT for contentious ear infection. That was embarrassing for me. She LOL and smiled. Children will do the darnedest things. I just TRIED to watch him at eating times and reminded him that it could causes "oucheys" in his ears. He grew out of it after a few months... GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey Casey, remember thats she is ONLY 15 months old therefore, logic is still lacking. Telling her bugs will crawl in her ear will give her potential phobias. Billions of children put food all over their bodies usually with very little consequence. However, if you are really worried, teach her the most important word she should understand - NO -. Everytime she reaches toward her ear say no firmly, without smiling but not angryily, and pull her hand away. Don't get frustrated because eventually she will get it. I truly believe that babies should be taught the words NO/HOT/DON'T TOUCH, the moment they start crawling and this way they learn to survive in a world that is not childproof. Happy parenting - the best job in the world (from a mom, grandma & teacher)

try ear plugs or small pieces of cotton ball so that whatever she does attempt to put in wont go very far and it makes it easier to clean or tell her that if she puts food in her ears the ants or bugs or something she is scared of will come to live in her ears to eat the food

My nephew use to try to stick food up his nose. It didnt matter what we were eating he'd try to put it up his nose. Then one day when we blinked and a chickpea went up his nose and we had to take him to the ER to have it surgically removed, he didnt do it again. I dont know how to stop your daughter other then telling her no and a short reason why such as "NO that will give you an ouchie" its how I stoped my 9 month old son from shaking the bakers cabient in our kitchen

The first time she tries, you tell her no and stop her. You then tell her if she does it again, she is done eating until snack time. If she does it again, take her food away, and then place her into her room until supper is done. A time or two of doing that will give her the hint.
