a book can't cure eczema.
info in the book might help you but that info is probably found elsewhere.
best advice: look to testimonials from others that have your same condition, see what works and doesn't work. Share knowledge.
What worked for our child, and in a big way, was a British made product, Salcura Dermaspray Gentle. it's now available from a USA distributor.. or get it over the counter at a British Chemist . There's some people with hand eczema that cleared up after using salcura. Look for the testimonials on line.

No eczema is not contagious,if your friend is being truthful about having eczema.Could it possibly be scabies, this is highly contagious and is a rather nasty rash that can spread but is very treatable.Best go to your GP or local clinic to be on the safe side.Of course it could just be a nervous reaction to new changes in your life or maybe psychosomatic because you are worrying too much about it.

hello. as the others have said, eczema is not contagious. there are, however, other skin conditions that look like eczema but are contagious. examples are ring worm and scabies. pop along to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to take a look. they now have a private consultation room and a pharmacist is qualified to diagnose some conditions. if it's in an intimate place and don't want to show the pharmacist make an appointment to see your GP. if your doctor diagnoses eczema ask for E45 cream on prescription. i get huge 500g pump action bottles from my GP instead of paying over £10 for it myself. best wishes, A x

No, eczema is definately not contagious, it is caused by genes. You're probably just allergic to something, or maybe you've eaten something out of the ordinary. If you really want to know you can go to the doctor- only they can diagnose it really. Eczema usually only happens in childhood, and can come back in your teens if you've got a lot of exam stress. If it's really bad it can affect you for the rest of your life as well.

True eczema is a the bodies immune repsone against itself. Therefor it is not cantagious at all.
If you have a rash now, and it looks like your friends.. consider an environmental irritant. Both are using the same living space. So its most likely a cleaning agent.. bath soap, detergent... floor cleaner etc...etc...
See what is new. Compare notes on exposure to household stuff and figure out by elimination what it is that is botehring the both of you.
If hers goes away too.... maybe she never had Eczema in the first place. rashes are often misdiagnosed due to similar appearances to each other. Who know, maybe once you figure it out, your moving in there could have saved her a lifetime of useless medication use!
Cheers.

A true eczema is the body's immune response to an irritant, and is usually stress or diet related. It isn't contagious as everyone's body is different. If you do catch a rash off someone else it will be a virus, like measles or chickenpox, but not an excema which is often (usually) chronic.
If your friend has recently moved in with you (or vice versa), you may be reacting to her perfume/washing powder/etc.

You can't catch it so its not because of your friend.
You say you have never had it before and now you do, but it sounds like the only thing which has changed in your life is moving house so the clue is probably in that fact.
You might have got it now because you have moved in somewhere new, it could be that you are allergic to something in the house (fleas maybe?) or it could be due to stress/worry of moving house which can cause eczema .
Go to your doctor, they will know what it is and how to treat it. In the meanwhile don't use any harsh products on your skin, no fabric conditioners or anything like that and put on moisturiser.
Best of luck.

Eczema is not contagious. Whatever you have you didn't get from her. I've had roommates and even a husband and he never had eczema, even after a really bad break-out.
