Actually, an initiative has been proposed (I can't remember where) that would require any married couple to produce children within 3 years of being married or else be forced to divorce. I wonder if people will be so big on promoting marriage as existing "for making and raising babies" when they're confronted with actually being HELD to that standard.

I think the sanctity of marriage went out the window when Britney Spears married and divorced her childhood friend in Vegas int he same weekend.
I mean, THAT'S legal, but a loving monogamous same-sex marriage isn't? C'mon.

Considering over 50% of marriages in the USA end in divorce... there's nothing sacred about it any more to begin with.

It hasnt escaped my attention that the people who are loudest about protecting the sanctity of marriage are multiple divorcers...

If we did that, then marriage wouldn't even exist anymore. How would it be sacred if it's not there?
