Say you are dating/talking to this guy/girl that you have met online but not have met in real life...You made several attempts to me but for whatever reason you do not meet...He/She says the reasoning is because they are affraid? Affraid of what? Should he/she wait until the other is no longer affraid if the bond is that strong? Or is it all BS?

Hey, I met my bf online. We spoke for 3 years before I'd let him meet me. I had just come out of a crappy relationship and was scared to jump into another one right then. He wanted to meet, but he let me take my time, I gained trust and finally decided to go for it. I was very grateful for his understanding in waiting for me, it made me feel cared for.

So no, I don't think it's BS, people have very valid reasons for wanting to wait, baggage can be heavy and you probably want him to take care of the baggage before jumping into something with you anyway, right? So if you love him, then you will wait.

There is nothing wrong about being cautious, The Internet may be great for making "on-line" friends, but remember not everyone may be as honest and open as you. I would be skeptical of meeting someone as well. I think the best thing to do is maintain an on-line relationship & when the trust level has reached their satisfaction then meet.

If a person makes excuses over and over, they are probably not that interested. What does it hurt to meet in a public place or do they have something to hide(probably). Find someone else, perhaps in person. A person in the flesh can only hide so much whereas online they can become who they dream of being.

it is most likely that the person they are portraying online is not who the person is at all. they might just be messing with you, and the thought of meeting in person would blow the whole charade.
Have you even talked to them on the phone? Got pics? Even pics could be fake.
Online relationships can be dangerous if not sought through the correct channels.

meeting someone online is kinda scarry these days with all of the news about the bad stuff that has become of it. He or she is going to have to make the decision on there own and use the best judgment they can in a situation like this.

Tell 'em to beat it.

Either they're lying and had no intention of ever meeting up with you...or anyone, or aren't really interested that much. If they were, they wouldn't keep makng excuses.

Afraid? Nervous more likely, but you're both in the same boat.

Damn, hard one, you never know with online crap. Well maybe he/she really are afraid to meet with you cause they are either insecure about themselves or they just don't trust you quiet yet. OR of course it can all be just bs and that person is messing with you and just joking around....
You can ask him why he/she are afraid and judge by the answer if they are either lying to ya or not...all up to u.
