Only GOD can give a soul to anything.

It isn't possible. Life comes from life. There is no other source. The most sophisticated robot still requires the life of a person to build it, program it, and maintain it. Even if it were possible to build a machine to function exactly like a human or other living being, it could not attain consciousness. Consciousness is the symptom of the soul.

Man does not even have a soul, we are souls, the whole being, and the the soul that is sinning, it itself will die. Genesis 2:7, Ezekiel 18:4. On another note, God says that blood is the soul, and since robots do not use or need blood, they can never be a soul.

Hi Straw man,
I recently got a violation notice from a question of yours that I answered. My answer was about needing a brain and seeing the wizard. I am terribly sorry if I offended you, I was just messing around and being stupid. It was not meant to be personally offensive it was just based on your avatar. So I hope you accept my apologies if I offended you.

In regards to this question, I would have to say no. We may be able to create robots that act human but only God creates souls.

Potentially yes...
The fact is that a soul has never been proven in any way. So what we are accountable for in the physical world is consciousness. Once we create a machine (or a program, thought matrix, etc...) that is capable of realizing it exists independantly making choices of its own, we will have created life in all measurable ways. The question will become, what rights should this conciousness have? The problem is that what is morally right and politically/religiously right will be sure to clash, as many religions already claim that only humans have consciousness (which is highly disputable). Therefore, religion will prove a stumbling block to creating such advanced consciousness.

Proved of course by the unintelligent and unquestioning faith of the poster directly below me.

No because only God can give us a soul, not man. We are not creators of ourselves. We have a Creator and he is known as God. A man made machine or anything manmade will never have a soul.

Of course not, souls, if they exist, belong to organic beings, and all robots by definition are inorganic.
