First off, it takes alot to get out there and compete in the first place so know that you have something special inside that drives you. Alot of people don't have that. Congratulations. Second I have competed in a few tournaments and believe me the jitters never go away. Black belts in ADCC world championships still get nervous. The key is to turn that fear, that nervous energy into something useful. I have had tournaments were I went in "too calm" and had sloppy technique. I get nervous every tournament I have now and it's good. The best thing that works is to visualize what you plan on doing. Go through the fight, each step. From the time the ref says "fight" to when he's raising your hand. Picture the take down and take everything a little slow at first. If your game is speed its even better cause that nervous shake can be covered up when you're moving around. Have your some one massage your forearms between matches, it helps keep them from exhaustion. Focus on your coachs, forget about who's watching you, breath deep and slow, whatever nervousness can't be let out, use to help fuel your desire to win.

First of all, IT IS A GRAPPLING TOURNAMENT, NO STRIKING AT ALL, YOU SHOULD NOT BE SCARED... WHAT'S THE MOST THAT WILL HAPPEN? YOU GET SUBMITTED, REMEMBER YOU CAN ALWAYS TAP ANYTIME. YOU DIDN'T SAY IF YOU WERE COMPETING WITH THE GI OR NO GI.
I AM A BROWN BELT IN GRACIE JIU-JITSU.... AND I HAVE COMPETED IN SEVERAL TOURNAMENTS. I ALSO HAVE COMPETED IN FULL CONTACT MIXED MARTIAL ARTS MATCHES. THOSE ARE MUCH SCARIER... THERE IS STRIKING INVOLVED.

Just remember not to waste energy in the match. Trying to force moves that are not there or using too much muscle. Just flow. Go fast but efficient. Maximize efforts. This is what I try to do. If you watch the world's best grapplers they make it look so natural they are not wound up.
There is really nothing to fear. The worst case scenario happens you just tap out.
I think you will like it. The jiu jitsu guys tend to show alot of class and respect. At least that has been my experience so far. You will also be able to say you compete which to me is a worthwhile

Are you in the UK??
Bristol comp??
Whatever it is, it will probably seem a little unorganised.
Just go there, relax and don't take it too seriously.
Use it as a learning curve for your next comp. You will do so much better in your second one.

Deep breaths
Slap your head around to get used to the contact thats coming
get warm before entering the fight, get a warm up buddy to wrestle with before the fight.
Strech out really well arms, neck, legs.
remain calm at all times, even if you are not inside, be so outside.
drink water, not too much
Pray.

the first thing to rmemember that fear isnt a bad thing to experience, it keeps you on your toes and makes you more aware. take a few deep breaths in through your nose out through your mouth, this will increase the oxygen to your brain and calm you.
I always find that once i start fighting my fear subsides a little anyway.
Good luck!

Just think positive. You only are scared when you think the worst thing is going to happen. Before your match starts just vision yourself going out there and doing great.

use the fear to your advantage and channel it into your fighting or if it helps listen to a song you like before you start and get it stuck in your head and as your about to get up and kick them around hum it to yourself. seriously it works. tested and tried by yours truly. also make sure you keep moving and loosen up more cos fear and nerves make your body tense and your reactions slower. GOOD LUCK!!
