I would never, ever even consider such a thing.
Gods Word is not to be divided up by ten verses that will "prepare them for college or the rest of their lives". Thats a disservice to a child, at very best.
All of Gods Word is to be understood; there are not ten verses that are "better" than others in Scripture, and I really hope this isn't something you would advise or do.

And Luke 6:31 rather encompasses each thing that we are taught related to a thank you to act in the direction of others. i could additionally comprise: Matthew 22:37 OR Mark 12:30-31 (love the Lord) Luke 6:27 (love your enemies) Matthew 7:a million (do no longer decide others) Philippians 4:13 (i'm able to do all issues via Him who supplies me potential) Proverbs 3:5-6 (believe in God) ...and that i'm undecided what else, yet there is lots! If the youngster is already sufficiently previous to be entering into college, i could attempt to hand-p.c.. some in accordance to despite that youngster needs.

You are not supposed to limit it to just 10 verses. I'd start with the 10 Commandments and then add the Golden Rule [which isn't directly stated as the Golden Rule, by the way, but in other words]. Some of the verses are not to be taught as rules to live by. They were of other places, people, events.

Ecclesiastes 11
The Uncertainties of Life
1 Send your grain across the seas,
and in time, profits will flow back to you.[a]
2 But divide your investments among many places,[b]
for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.
3 When clouds are heavy, the rains come down.
Whether a tree falls north or south, it stays where it falls.
4 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
5 Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb,[c] so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
6 Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.
Advice for Young and Old
7 Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.
8 When people live to be very old, let them rejoice in every day of life. But let them also remember there will be many dark days. Everything still to come is meaningless.
9 Young people,[d] it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. 10 So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.

Psa 137:9 May the Lord bless everyone who beats your children against the rocks!
Deu 20:16 Whenever you capture towns in the land the LORD your God is giving you, be sure to kill all the people and animals.
Deu 20:10 Before you attack a town that is far from your land, offer peace to the people who live there. If they surrender and open their town gates, they will become your slaves. But if they reject your offer of peace and try to fight, surround their town and attack. Then, after the LORD helps you capture it, kill all the men. Take the women and children as slaves and keep the livestock and everything else of value.
Eze 23:7 She had sex with all the important Assyrian officials and even worshiped their disgusting idols.
Eze 23:8 Once she started doing these things in Egypt, she never stopped. Men slept with her, and she was always ready for sex.
Is 5 enough?

None at all.
Failing that -- five clear contradictory verses. It'd be hard to choose exactly which pairs to include though from the multitude of contradictions.
