Why don't christain make burnt offerning anymore.
Genesis 8.20
Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerngs on the altar. And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, "l will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.
The way I see it the burnt offering is what made god remember way he created us in the first place. Why don't Christain do it any more if it made god that happy?

Miri, you answered it Great!! These sacrifices looked forward to the only PERFECT Sacrifice, Jesus Christ. Since then, we no longer need to sacrifice unblemished lambs, etc for forgiveness for our sins Jesus became the perfect sacrifilce. Some Jews don't understand this, along with many other people. (The Messianic Jews do). The Jews who don't understand, feel we need to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, in order to continue the Sacrifices again, but since sacrifices are no longer needed and accepting Jesus's Atonement for ours sins is, we believers have the Holy Spirit indwelling the TEMPLE in us. Our body is the Temple now. What sacrifices we should make now is ridding our old Adamic Spirit we were born with and through asking Jesus into our hearts, we will be changed into a new creature in Christ Jesus=born again, changed, renewed thru Grace by God. Continue reading past Genesis. You've got a good start. But, remember, like reading a story, you can't understand it until you've read it all. We live in the age of Grace, not bound by the Law. And that doesn't mean we don't have to OBEY the 10 commandments as I read someone say in one of the answers, but means we're no longer condemned if we don't obey every commandment perfectly. The commandments show us how imperfect we are because no man can perfectly obey all of it all of the time. It shows the need of the perfect sacrifice in Jesus to atone, to cover our sins!! BUT to receive this gift of atonement for our sins, we need to believe in Jesus and His atonement, and obey and follow Him after repenting. THEN, we are forgiven.

The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ replaced all sacrifices man was required to make. Christ made the final and ultimate sacrifice on the cross so no we don't have to make God happy by making burnt offerings we just need to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.

Because the burnt offering was meant as a 'sacrifice' to gain forgiveness from the Lord. By God sending his Son Jesus Christ to die as the 'sacrifice' for our sins we no longer need to make burnt offerings to the Lord God.

If you are a Christian, you should know that Christ was the last sacrifice. The Catholic Mass is the "re-enactment" of that sacrifice. They believe that at the "consecration" believers slip through the veil of time to join Christ's sacrifice in spirit and in truth. Incidentally, scripture tells us that God does not delight in the sacrifice of bulls, but would rather have obedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice

Burnt offerings were of the old law, of the Old testament. Because man was so sinful God required that they make sacrifices to him to atone for their sinfulness. But because Jesus came and died for our sins/sinfulness burnt offerings are no longer necessary. But the only way Jesus' atonement for our sins is effective for us is that we accept him as our lord and savior. God allowed us salvation through the death and resurrection of his son. But if we reject the son, then we reject the father therefore we will not receive salvation therefore eternal death away from God in Hell will occur.

Jesus became the perfect sacrifice. Thanksgiving and praise as well as obedience to the WORD are our confessions of GOD.
