Its actually quite easy. Follow the signs for the airtrain. Jump on that and it will take you to nj transit. The nj transit goes into manhattan. It's the last stop "penn station". makke sure to purchase nj transit ticket at airtrain or you will have to pay an extra $5 for surcharge. Penn Station is on 34th st and 8th ave. There are always taxi's outside from there or you can hop on subway depending on where you are going from there.

Taxis are pricey. You can take the AirTrain from the airport terminal to the Newark Airport Station. From there you can catch an Amtrak or New Jersey Transit Train. The ride should not take more than 30 minutes.

airtrain + nj transit would be your best bet. check the website provided by answerer above.

keep in mind that there are 2 penn stations -- new york and newark. you'll need directions to new york penn, although if you do end up at newark penn, you can still take the PATH train to midtown manhattan.

There is a bus and also a train, haven't gone through Newark in years so I can't be as specific as you need...I would look up NJ transit's website. I agree - you shouldn't take a cab, it will be a fortune.

The bus/train or a shuttle are pretty easy and cheaper.

Maybe a shuttle. They are about $17 bucks. I am not sure how much a cab would be.
