For increasing your odds of winning? I know they are called one armed bandits for a reason...But I have read so much conflicting info when it comes to winning on slots. So say there is a method other say no...Some say they have microchips, that determine an outcome others say no...Some say it's luck other say no...I have read that all machines must legally comply with a payout ratio of anywhere from 75%-90% (does that mean that there ARE wired to payout at certain times?) What gives? I mean I know a woman that goes twice a month and spends $100 on slot and walks out of there with $500 almost every time...and then you see people that never get a payout?

From everything I've seen and read about slot machines, the answer would be "no". Slot machines are now just random number generators that display their results in the form of the reels you see on the outside. They are programmed to dispense over their life 75%-90% (whatever the number may be) but there is no set timeline on when the payout happens, nor would it matter how large your bill is. There is truth to the idea that the machines with the higher limits (ie. the $5 slots versus the $0.25 slots) have a higher payout ratio in general (gotta keep those high rollers happy). Your friend with the $500 payout is either very fortunate, or very good at fibbing ;-)

While all of it is RNG, there is some truth to going slow with luck-based games. You can win a 20$ on 1 of 20 tries and multiply your earning with 20 chances but if you put in 20$ in one sitting you will only have 1 chance and that is greed which made casinos site where they are right now.

You can do your own experiment, by playing different amount of tokens on a free slot machines online (http://www.slotozilla.com/free-slots) and see if you can see a pattern in winning. I've tried and had a real hard time with it.

Hello,
I'm a casino manager and i will try to answer you questions.
Slots are called one armed bandits because when they were first introduced it was a mechanical operation which caused a spin by pulling a big leaver on the side of the unit. Hence one armed.

The slots today have what is refer ed to as eprom chips that govern what the unit does. One of the eprom chips will contain a random number generator, this produce a number that corresponds to a position on the reels and gives the reel combination of symbols.

The eprom chips control the % for the units and these chips are regulated in a very strict manner.

If you put your money in slot and play max bet + max credit the % on the unit changes slightly.

That's about it if you need any more help or advice feel free to mail me.

There is no truth of winning more if you put different demoninations in a machine, what does make a difference is the fact that it does take more time to put 20 one dollar bills into a machine and play rather than a 20 bill. So nevertheless you are saving more money.

No, my friend won $16,000 with a $1 play walking to her room.
I won $2,300 playing quarters - killing time. I do not think the machine cares about the denomination of the bill just that you spend money. I rarely walk away without a win but my husband rarely wins - we spend what a nice dinner, movie & hotel stay(they comp hotel bill for us) would cost us & then go home. Never take more than you can lose with you. We find it fun but not neccessary to win.

No, there is no truth to that.

A $20 slot machine will give better pay odds than a $1 machine, but it doesn't matter how much you put into each machine.

well it depends on the slot and some other things, but my guess would be that the more money you give to the casino the nicer they are to you... get my drift, higher $$ = higher chances
