If with a meal 16year old can drink with a meal - porter, cider and perry. In Scotland add wine to the list.A person of 16years can be in licensed premises with the landlords permission but not purchase alcohol. There is no specification for parents to be present but some 18 years would have to be there to buy drink. It can be in a pub but in an area set aside for the serving of food.

Under the 2003 Licensing Act, provison is made for a 16 - 17 year old to consume alchol on licensed premise only with a table meal (still no final definition of a table meal, but generaly assumed that meal eaten with a knife and fork) the child must be accompined by a responsibile adult, and can not purchase alchol themselves. Once the meal is cleared they can not consume alchol, The only drinks they are alowed is beer, wine and cider, NO SPIRTS, NO ALCHO POPS etc!

if your in the uk , NO ! if parents are there or not , not sure about other countries though . If any person gives a alcoholic drink to an under 18 in the uk they are liable to be arrested & as it is illegal ! . Some places now you do have to LOOK 21 though in order to be able to buy a drink this is to help bar staff members work out who is definatly older than 18 & not younger or borderline.

yes at 16 you may if it is beer wine or cider and is consumed with food. you may enter a pub at 14 but may only drink soft drinks. the average age at which uk youth starts drinking is 13. in the usa you cannot untill 18, in some states you have to be 21, this is supposed to be the land of the free. britain is the mother of democracy but it will not remain so if the stalinist scum that calls itself new labour stays in power.

Right, the licencing law in England states:
A 16-17 yr old may drink beers, wines or ciders with a table meal (not a snack) they are not allowed to purchase the drink. however, the discression lies with the pub manager, they do not have to serve you that drink, even though the law states that they can, they do not have to.

It depends on which country you are living in. In the US, no you cannot do that. Actually if the parent gives a 17 year old alcohol they can go to jail.

No, they might't. you are able to in simple terms drink alcohol if it fairly is on your individual domicile, supervised by potential of your mothers and dads. there is a few weird and wonderful regulation meaning you are able to drink in a cafe if it fairly is with a meal (wine), yet maximum pubs should not be permitting under 18s on the premises in any respect, in spite of in the event that they do no longer seem to be eating. If the landlady had desperate to sell you alcohol, she'd be breaking the regulation and so might you, yet to be trouble-free, we've all drank underage previously! :P

you can if parents are cops, j/k you cannot purchase, you can drink it of course we or others can't stop you but whether your parents are there or not and you are cought by a cop who holds those laws you prob be ticketed. In other words i guess your parents will be paying for it if you can't, thats if in the u.s.
if it's at a meal place and they let it thats on them, but in new york city my friend got introuble for a drink he ordered at a restaurant, all were older he was just under by one. He was 20, parents and all they brought the owner over to check i.d. then spoke to him and parents.
Cops if they are in a good mood might let you slide but they don't have to, they can give you a ticket right away, your still underage period. Then a new law would have to be that anyone is allowed with parent, no way, they won't do it.
