Makes them feel really silly I bet. But they will just ignore it like they always ignore the truth.

breneden it has done absolutly nothing to me, because you identified him correctly, he was a hypocrite, the greek word means pretender or actor. he may have been playing the role of an evangelical leader. but obviously in truth, he was decieving people. I suggest you read about Judas Iscariot, he was a close follower of Jesus and was made treasurer of the apostles, but when it finally came down to it, we find out that he neevr really was interested in following Jesus, he had been stealing the money fomr the treausrey, and used some of the oney to betray Jesus. This is no suprise, the BIble talks repeatedly about this. The BIble says that if thety were of us, (Christians) they would have renmained with us, But the fact that they havent remained with us proof they were neevr really Christians in the first place.
What dioes it mean and how do you become a real Christian?
let me ask you a question, Would you Consider yourself to be a Good person?
How many lies have you told in your life?
How many times have you been angry and used Gods name in vain?
How many times have you looked upon a woman with lust? (adultery of the heart)
How many times have to been angry without cause? (murder of the heart).
If your guilty of these things, despite the fact that some evangelical figure was caught lying and cheating, you wil be held accountable for your own actions. if you have done these things, then by your own admission, your a lying theiving blapshemous adulterer at heart, and thats How God see's you. You have sinned against an infinately Holy God, a God whom has seen every thought word and deed, Nothing you have ever done is Hidden from His Holy eyes. The penalty for sin is death and hell. the good news is that christ died for us, God poured out His wrath upon jesus instead of us, and today, you must repent (turn from sin and trust in jesus, if you will do this, you will be forgiven and granted everlasting life. We will not esacpe the arm of God and niether will I or ted haggard or Billy graham or Pat roberston or anyone, whter they are veangelical or not. so, please, think about this, repent, turn from sin and trust in Christ while there is still time.
God Bless

AS Christians we look to Jesus Christ as our only example.
The Bible as our Guide.
"Leaders" are only there to encourage us on. As Christian we KNOW that some will fall some will cheat because we all have a sinful nature.
Our reaction Pray and Remove for a time until a "Healing" has taken place and the "leader is Strong enough to come back into a position of leadership.

The Falls of Jim Bakker, and Jimmy Swaggard showed us ( although we should of known from The WORD) not to put our trust, and hope in a Man. Men fail, God doesn't. The tragedy that is Ted Haggard has very little effect on our faith.

Are you sure it's not YOU who's on meth?
What are you talking about and what man leads 30 million of us, as you say.

I never heard of Ted before the scandal broke out, so it does nothing to me.
I agree with the guy above me that I follow a Jewish carpenter, not an American pastor.

Wait...what's wrong with any of that stuff? Why do atheists ask questions like this in an accusing manner? Don't you actually believe what you're selling??? ;-)

Who exactly are you referring to?
Edit:
Oh sorry...you mean Ted Haggard. He's a fallible man just like the rest of us. Shouldn't be allowed to return to a leadership role in any church.
Forgiven.....yes. Restored.....yes. Put back in the pulpit....no.

Sadly, it has little to no affect on their religious beliefs. The only difference it makes is their opinions of how the guy currently acts. Don't expect Christians to apply logic or sound reasoning to their religious beliefs because it simply won't happen.

Anyone can succumb to temptation. We are only human. He can be forgiven like anyone else. We put our faith in God not man.
