If he's responsible for one, he MUST therefore be responsible for the other right?

(I'm re-posting this because someone had it removed, despite the FACT that it doesn't violate the Yahoo TOS...)

So the basic answers are;
Uhh, we don't know.
Or;
Because he doesn't do the bad things...

I've never figured out that problem - if god gets praise for the good why doesn't he take responsibility for the bad.

I'll be looking forward to the answers that you get.

And, if your question gets removed then that will, in effect, be your answer -

In the grand scheme of things.....things are not judged good and bad. They simply are. It's what you do with them that matters. Once time has passed, most people realize looking back, that through some of the toughest times in life came the greatest blessings or personal insights and lessons. It's man that judges it good or bad. We are looking at things from 1 personal perspective....he has a grand view. Without pain there would be no joy. Without day there would be no night. It's all a part of the same thing.

I guess it made more sense to me when someone explained it like a parent and child. We are the children in this sense. He gave us a good guide and he also gave us free will. He said don't do this and don't do that and it's up to us to decide to listen or not. As a parent you can tell your child not to touch the fire because it will burn. Some listen and some just HAVE to stick their hand in to find out for themselves. Is fire bad? No...it serves a purpose. It's the kids own willfullness to test the limits that caused the burns. But now he knows. Is that a lesson he will soon forget? Doubt it. There's a balance we have to respect in everything. Not to mention that this earthly life is just a step on the journey......it's what you do with it that matters when life throws you a curve ball or a bad hand. I've had more than my fair share of so called bad things happen. Some can be directly related to my bad decisions and some have nothing to do with me. It's how you get through it. No pain ,no gain. Many people who live to a ripe old age wouldn't change the bad things that have happened because of all they benefitted from it in other ways. It's a package deal.

It's a legitimate question. I think many people believe that life is supposed to be a trial and no matter what happens you are supposed to keep faith. I've been told that God will never give you more than you can handle. With the good you have to take the bad, but people are just more appreciative of the good. I'm not an expert, so that's just my opinion. Free will dictates that we are all allowed to make our own decisions and reap the consequences. Learn from the bad, but dont' blame others and focus on what's good. Hope that helps.

For one, some do blame him for the undesirable as properly. yet there are extra advantageous than few the explanation why maximum Christians excuse him: a million) some have faith the devil is the source of all it rather is undesirable 2) some have faith that god is customary with of what's superb for us whether we don't understand why he might do some issues, so as that they opt for to no longer blame or question him and only have faith he's customary with of what's ideal 3) many do no longer in all risk think of roughly it long adequate to attain they are doing this 4) Their different fall adult adult males are many times "unfastened will" and "divine plan" 5) and a impressive style of have faith that we are undesirable, undesirable sinners that stay in a fallen international and that is our fault undesirable issues ensue, no longer his. no longer basically that, yet we deserve any punishment we acquire. i'm advantageous there is extra too, yet those seem the main consumer-friendly excuses. I remember being taught this variety of attitude in parochial college.

Bottom line, it's much likelier people will appreciate a good thing than a bad thing, so that's pretty obvious. Secondly, what good would it do to be complaining about the bad things? They already happened, so all you can do is keep moving on. Plus, nobody likes a whiner.
Also, we are really supposed to thank Him for the bad things as well, seeing as how we grow much more from the those than from the easy times.
And, in answer to your imperfect reasoning, lots of the less than wonderful occurences in our lives result from our own poor choices, which aren't His doing in the first place. Sure, He lets us suffer the consequences of those poor choices, but that's just being a responsible parent. If you never suffer for your stupidities, you never learn from them, either.
Think about it.
And, as to the implied criticism of Christian idiocy for such behavior, we aren't perfect, just trying to get as close as we can. Truth is, we're human, we make mistakes, we aren't always either wise or good sports, but we do have the grace of a Father who loves us and will guide us toward worthwhile maturity, no matter with how much ill grace we accept His corrections.
How about yours?

God is not responsible for evil. God can have nothing to do with sin. When he created the world it was good. It was only after Satan tempted adam and Eve that evil entered. God is the source of good and good only. The source of evil is Satan and our sinful nature.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.

Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I try to praise God through the good and the bad times...I do not blame Him because God does not make bad things happen..He allows bad things to happen, but it is all for a better cause..to better us spiritually or emotionally....if only good things happened all the time, people would feel that we didn't need God and would no longer serve Him...All things work for the good for those who love HIm

He causes all things to work together for good to those that love Him.

We live in a fallen world where poop happens.

But here's the fact. Jesus didn't come to bring peace between man and man. He came to bring peace between man and God. Only when there is peace between man and God can there be peace between man and man.

So, all these difficulties in the world have been pre-predicted. But who is the one who overcomes? The one who believes that Jesus is the son of God.

No matter what happens, I have overcome already. And let me tell you, there is a LOT of poop happening in my life right now... tons of rejection, crap from the past... but my best friend, my Lord, my Savior, Jesus is walking with me, teaching me along the way.

There is nothing that can separate me from his love and acceptance... I know that. I've been to hell and back enough times to know whereof I speak.

I trust God implicitly. He has only my good in mind. And in 27 years of serving him, falling on my **** many times in the process, He has always always come through for me... helped me out of every circumstance I brought on myself -even ones I didn't bring on myself.

You know that song, Our God is An Awesome God. Yeah, it's true.

**EDIT** Wow. Yahoo edited out even the European word for a**. Savvy, yahoo. Very savvy.

I think you're right... I don't BLAME God for bad things... I do realize he allows them to happen, though... and I think I'm okay with that. Without suffering there'd be no compassion. Why would be be thankful for good things if we always had good things?

If it makes you happier, I'll blame God when bad things happen. But it won't make me any less faithful to him.

GREAT QUESTION! I'm not a christian myself but the explanation I heard was that if for instance he helped the poor in Africa we would no longer have free will and he would be in control of mankind. Huh, like all religions aren't manipulative and controlling. Isn't that why they start brainwashing us at primary school.
