i do no longer prefer to danger sounding like a 'bible- thumper' or every physique overly non secular, yet nonetheless own adventure I definitely have found out that the Bible is a wealth of know-how. whether you at the instant are not Christian, you may study from its contents. As for wars and political unrest in Persia, present day Iran, the section has a historic previous of stress relationship returned to historical instances. Political unrest and violent conflicts began earlier Alexander the large, yet his reign led to the Persian Wars, the 1st of many conflicts interior the section. After the Persian Empire collapsed the section became returned united as Islamic territories bordering the Byzantine Empire, which set a precedent for destiny non secular conflict. Chinggis Kahn additionally conquored Persia and his empire in particular set an occasion of opressive rule and political unrest that maintains into present day-day. His empire and the others i discussed all had a large divide between the wealthy and the undesirable which led to stress basically compounded with the aid of non secular variety and opression that date returned to earlier Cyrus' reign. i desire this enables clarify a number of at present's conflicts and how the Bible applies via fact it became written in the process the time of the Alexander's reign and the Byzantine Empire.

FYI: things in the Bible DO happen today! Read in Revelation. That whole book is scary, and takes a strong heart to read. The end of time is coming, and the book of Revelation dipicts that well. Look especially for the storms, droughts, and diseases. Then notice the talk about political leaders.
It's in there, its just kind of hard to understand. You'll be amazed though, with what you find.
good luck.

But it does still happen. Look at what God did to New Orleans because of them getting naked and foolish at Mardi Gras.
If that is not an act of God then you explain it to the insurance companies.
Getting naked at Mardi Gras is a sin and that is why God destroyed New Orleans, the fact that so many people there are the poor has little to do with it, but being poor is a sin too..

Today we are in the Age of Grace=God's riches at Christ's Expense. God sent His Son to pay our penalty for our sins. Jesus promised us He will never leave or forsake us. At Pentecost, God gave us the Holy Spirit, the 3rd Godhead to indwell us, thus guide us, talk to our inner being and comfort us. God did talk to select people in the Old Testament times. These people did not have the Holy Spirit indwellling them. God also spoke thru the Prophets. After the Age of the Gentiles, the age of Grace is over (after the Rapture). If the believers are gone (raptured), then the Holy Spirit who INDWELLS the believers will be gone also, but will, like in Old Testament times, selectively come to individuals. The WORLD as a whole without the Holy Spirit , left to man alone, could in itself bring on Tribulation Period. So, in answering your question, Old Testament days, God was on the Throne of Judgement. Since Pentecost until the Rapture, He's on the Throne of Grace where we can reach up to Him and ask for Mercy as He's always looking down to us with outstretched hands ready to accept us just as we are. After the Rapture, God will again be on the Throne of Judgement. Jesus first came as a lamb, a perfect sacrificial lamb who humbled Himself and died for us. After the Tribulation, Jesus will come as The Lion of Judah and King, and cleanse this earth of all the evil and restore it. Miracles DO happen today, but if you are not living in the Spirit, you may not recognize them and think things are happenstance. God continues to warn us and give us hope= the Book of Revelation. Read it.

It is because those events NEVER HAPPENED!
It is like the movies of Superman, Batman or a Stephen King novel. There is all kinds of action and suspence but the entire premise is pure fiction.
The only difference is Stephen King is a great writer & his stories are a pleasure to read. The bible is very POOR writing and not worth reading unless you want to wake up from the religion induced trance and see that Atheism is right!

You mean like Israel becoming a nation again after almost 2,000 years or the Tsunami that killed 300,000 people? The AIDS epidemic? All the wars?
Shall I go on?

I think you need to do some reading. These things do happen today. Just cause something doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Go to a Christian bookstore adn read one of the many books of testimonies of people who have had these miraculous experiences.
