What do you think of this car? Is it a good car, will it last for awhile? I'm looking into buying one, and just wanted to know what peoples thoughts were on this car. Thanks

No other car has had more problems that another, Buying a used that old can be an issue if the person you are buying it from has not maintained it.
Her is what I do for customers. FOr 100 bucks I will go through the car stem to stern, I wil issue a report and my professional suggestion on wether to purchase it or not.
Ask the seller if you can take ot to be checked out. Plan this with a shop you already do business with.
I also allow the customer a $50 credit if they buy that car, just in case something minor happens.

the contours had many problems. is it anywhere near the first year they came out. as a rule never buy the first three years of a car . by the end of that time they have all the design bugs worked out!

call the ford dealership with the VIN number and have them run an OASIS report on it. It will tell you service history and recall info on that car. They are good cars if maintenance is kept up.

I would not buy one, especially a used one. The wiring on these cars break and wear quickly. Other than that engine and transmission are good.

Those who have them, love them. For it's time, they rode quite well, had greatly handling and control. But the first models had electrical glitches here and there. Maybe a 98 model might work better for you if you must.
