Some one once asked about Carbon Dating, and also, if Adam and Eve tap-danced with the dinosaurs. My answer to the last question was that for the creationists’, god created the earth as it is with all of the fossils for us to find and ponder over. Some one said that was really stupid. If you are a fanatic like Bishop Butler who determined that the world was created 4004 years ago, on Tue, Dec 8, at 7:30am, then it isn’t stupid, but he was. My question for the creationists, did god make physics an intermittent concept or was it to work only when he petulantly decided that it would. Carbon Dating as well as many other paleo-forensic techniques date the earth and its inhabitants as billions of years old. Does physics not work when scientists are trying to determine anything associated with the creationist/evolutionist concepts, but suddenly physics works for all other aspects of the universe? Or is it one of those miracle things that we are not to understand as mortals?

Physics is associated with every making of the Universe, but I do understand what you are stating....that people are here to learn about these things and past the ultimate test of faith...people can indulge themselves in these tests and subjects to learn and teach...but in the end are they bettering humanity or giving themselves more power and wealth/greed? I see what you're saying and it's a good darn point........others won't understand exactly what you mean.....to each his own, you know? not our place to judge

God created the Earth and all the laws with it perfectly. After the fall of man the earth was cursed and began decaying. The weather currents (catastrophes) and the flood were the cause of fossils. One must take the awesome power of water erosion into effect. God created physics, and has complete control over it. Mans limited intellect can not fully comprehend what physics or any of the other natural laws are capable of. They have only scratched the surface (if that). There are literally thousands of websites you can search about how evolution is nothing more than a religion of atheists. It takes just as big a leap of faith to believe in evolution as it does creationism. Evolution is not science and that has been demonstrated repeatedly. Further more science is always changing, an example being Carbon dating. It is no longer the claim of evolutionists that it proves the earth is millions of years old. Further research has refined carbon dating to...
"Presuming the rate of production of carbon-14 to be constant, the activity of a sample can be directly compared to the equilibrium activity of living matter and the age calculated. Various tests of reliability have confirmed the value of carbon data, and many examples provide an interesting range of application.
Carbon-14 decays with a halflife of about 5730 years by the emission of an electron of energy 0.016 MeV. This changes the atomic number of the nucleus to 7, producing a nucleus of nitrogen-14. At equilibrium with the atmosphere, a gram of carbon shows an activity of about 15 decays per minute.
The low activity of the carbon-14 limits age determinations to the order of 50,000 years by counting techniques. That can be extended to perhaps 100,000 years by accelerator techniques for counting the carbon-14 concentration." (hyperphysics.com)
As you can see regardless of past claims, we now know carbon dating can not prove anything is millions of years old, let alone billions. There is also an abundance of proof that most fossil evidence that has been brought forth throughout the years as "proof" of evolution has since been revised or dismissed as hoaxes.

The Carbon 14 method of dating ancient remains has not turned out to be as free from error as had been hoped. . . . Certain runs have produced obviously wrong results, probably for a number of reasons. At the moment, one can depend upon the results without question only when several runs have been made which give virtually identical results AND when the date seems correct from other methods of computation - G. Ernest Wright, Archaeologist
Physicist R. Brown of Andrews University claims that the radiocarbon dating method is highly inaccurate. After a ten-year study, he concludes that radioactive carbon atoms did not exist in the earth’s atmosphere in significant amounts before 2000Â B.C.E. and so cannot be used to date objects before then. Sometime around that date, he says, a major atmospheric change likely occurred, resulting in the buildup of radioactive carbon in the atmosphere.
I do believe in the laws of physics. These are natural laws put in place by the Creator. They do not change. That is why scientist are able to conduct experiments, observe celestial movements, plan space expeditions etc. I do not believe that scientists yet know or have complete understanding of all of these laws.

In many ways the understanding of sciences and natural laws can make people rethink the other possibilities from a certain God-like perspective. I think that it's the interpretations which are flawed. Whether or not we have actually been here 6,000 years won't change how the natural laws effect us in the present or near future. For all we know we were brought here 6,000 years ago because our other planet died. Perhaps anything which predates that time was from an originally limited colonization or even slavery. It would be nice to know the real truth behind it all instead of all of these arguments. I am under the impression though that it's finally being revealed to us. Apparent miracles might just be because of our lack of higher knowledge of the so-called supernatural sciences. Use your logic and imagination and not just your paranoid delusions.

The theory of the earth being only 6000 years old, or so, is not a very widely held belief. Actually, some others that study the Bible say that the world existed before Genesis 1:1, was destroyed by the first flood [before Noah] and then Genesis 1:1 tells of the earth being RESTORED, not created, in the first verses. So, the earth may be billions of years old, for all we really know. It doesn't really matter, either.

That's right - the laws of science are believed over anything else as long as what they say is not controversial and doesn't interfere with anyone's preciously held superstitions. If carbon dating was used to show a huge boat on a mountain 5000 years ago you can bet your butt Christians would be trumpeting the news to the whole world but when the same radiological dating shows dinosaurs living 300,000,000 years ago? Suddenly its not to be trusted. The hypocrisy of theists is one little datum of evidence showing what a huge lie they're caught up in.

for one i think the dating methods are flawed ... but putting all that aside we live in a world with set laws of physics like u said ... time is a part of the laws we know from where we stand on earth ... the bible says there was a 6 day creation where man and the current ecosystem were created by God ... i beleive that ... it does not say he made the earth and the universe at that time so read it again ... the dinosaurs may have even been a part of a previously created ecosystem before our own ....

Creationists are in denial. The evidence is presented, they ignore it.
However, for you own information, Carbon dating is not usefull for anything over a few hundred thousand years because the half-life of carbon 14 is very short.
For longer periods of time there are multiple other radioactive dating techniques which use elements with longer half-lifes.

There is a pause between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2, This would allow for the billions and billions of years and multiple eons of fossils. God revealed what He wants us to know. Ask Him for the Faith to trust Him.

Even if you can find some tiny flaws in the idea of evolution, thats nothing compared to the enourmous flaws in the theory that a magical man in the sky created everythiing.
