Because it's a fairy tale.

It's because when, say, a preacher speaks to the crowd at a church about life, he may make some very great points expressed in what he says. He may talk about life circumstances and express it in such a well told way that it really warms your heart and gives you hope. Everything he says sounds very logical, except for the end. When he concludes the stories with how to solve certain problems in life, it always falls short and it ends with "just believe in god".

Believe in God is good, but people still need logical methods to solve the problems at hand for those specific issues. And many times religion doesn't give that.

Religion warms the heart?
How can you say that when practically all religious people I've ever met have so much contempt for people outside of THEIR 'faith'?
Religion doesn't warm the heart. It numbs the brain and pacifies the ego.

I find true faith very enlightening. Try it sometime! The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.

the religions on earth are designed to work for some based on personality. they help people identify themselves so they can be more of themselves. of course not everyone's the same though, and it's not dissimilar from a dog chasing a cat. as of yet a 100% clear understanding of the core workings/makeup of the universe isn't available to the public. something as simple as being as kind as possible to others may be enough to keep certain people sane, though, and it really depends on who you are.

Sometimes it doesn't even warm the heart. Have you read the Old Testament? Vile.

(2 Corinthians 4:3-6) . . .If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. 5 For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God is he who said: “Let the light shine out of darkness,” and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate [them] with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ.

It enlightens the mind of those who are paying attention to it.

Because the religious, especially in Christianity, do not seek knowledge as a form of living.

They have no reason to, as their belief says theyre saved already.

Because it contains good morals ,but is not the same as God talking directly to you like he does if you are spiritual. Then he talks directly to you ,one on one.Giving you what you need and telling you what you need to do or hear in order to reach enlightenment. He imparts wisdom from his conscious to yours
