Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting. You may eat one full meal and small snacks for the other two meals that do not add up to a full meal. You may eat shrimp on these days as part of your single meal

You may eat shrimp on Fridays during Lent.

Personally, I really like shrimp, so I do not see it as much of a sacrifice to eat shrimp on Friday, so I eat something like bean soup.

In South America, the bishop has declared that the capybara, a large rodent that has webbed feet and lives primarily in the water is acceptable to eat on Fridays in Lent.

Yes.

Seafood is allowed on days of abstinance (from meat) like Ash Wednesday and Lenten Fridays.

With love in Christ.

My father (who was raised in Vatican I), always said shrimp was ok because it's fish. We also got to eat pb&j sandwiches when we were younger because most of us (the kids, there were 4 of us) didn't like fish.

What's funny is that now I actually LIKE fish, but I'm no longer Catholic. :)

i do no longer think of that's what lent is for in any respect. Lent is a time to disclaim your self of a excitement that may no longer undesirable yet isn't a want the two. If somebody has the recommendations-set that they are doing it for weight alleviation (which some do), then they are basically denying themselves the blessing that's familiar as lent. Lent isn't enormously much giving up or fasting. it is approximately deepening one's relationship with Christ and coming closer to him contained in direction of the Lenten Disciplines -- Fasting, Prayer, and Acts of affection. that could be a time to resign something and use that added time and potential and dedicate it to God and individuals in provider and love. no longer each and every thing human beings do for Jesus is egocentric, yet particular, some human beings attempt to get a splash income in there for themselves. that is unhappy, and somewhat, they are basically hurting their very own relationship with Christ.
