What I mean is...there is always this moral to something. If you find money on the ground, the good thing to do is to go and search for its rightful owner (if you're in a city, if its in the country then good luck). Or if something happens in your favor, somebody might say "God is watching you, you have to do the right thing."
What if God was the one who made it so I could pick up the money? What if God made it so the good thing happened only for me?
Would the process never end?

Yes, there is the testing thing. I find money on the ground. I pick it up and see if I can find the owner. I find the owner and give it back. What if it wasn't a test, what if God graced me with that money and I gave it away, would he be in shock or anger because I gave away what he gave me?
Or if you can't find the owner then you're doomed or damned?
Not just money, though. It can apply to anything. What if God truley gave it to you, but you'd think the whole time that it belonged to someone else so you'd feel obligated (if you're honest) to search out its ownder.
