nothing repairs them once you have them...only cutting them off.

Take good care of your hair in order to prevent them from happening.

The condition known as split ends, technically known as trichoptilosis, occurs when the hair has been stressed too much and the stress frays the ends of the hairstrand. Common causes of trichoptilosis include damage from heat styling, bleaching, coloring, and use of inferior haircare products. Although some products claim to repair split ends, this just isn't true. The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off.

When using conditioner, don't rinse it that much at the ends, also you can dab a little on your hands and apply liberally to the ends of you hair after getting out of the shower. Be gentle when combing your hair (don't over come it), that can damage it. Also if you have layers for some reason this makes your split ends more noticeable.

I saw this new product from Garnier Fructis that is part of their long & strong line which is supposed to help from getting split ends. I'm not sure how good its going to be, but I thought it was worth a try.
