It's not that nobody bothered to explain them, it's that nobody can explain them.
Actually, I should say that nobody can explain them in a way acceptable to god believers. Actually the explanation is easy. Either no god exists and what we see is the result of random chance and chaos, or god exists and he acts in a random and chaotic way. Somehow believers tend to reject both the no god and the insane god explanation and settle on the mysterious god.

Mysterious ways stay mysterious until an explanation is made available. So much mysteries of yesterdays are technology today.

No, Mysterious as the Bible explains it is a plan that cannot be understood by man if it were disclosed, no one would be able to fathom it, for example: No man can see God and Live, Moses asked to see God in all of His Glory and God said no, because if he were to see Him, he would die, If just looking at God can kill you in this form, and the mere sight of God does that, than how can we understand His mind?
But the Bible does promise in Rev. 10 that the Mystery of God would be revealed.

Mystery only remains mystery because most people are too ckicken to Listen to an explanantion.

Let us not forget that God is the Ultimate InstaFoam (TM):

(OK, the holes remain, but you cannot see them. NO matter the house is still crumbly, and if the house collapses, it was the tenant's fault, not the InstaFoam's or the holes' fault).
