I bought the roses, chocolates, we went to dinner, then a film of her choosing, then back to her house. THEN she told me it was over and I had better go home. I thought we could last another month...but no.

YOUR SAD STORY might make me feel like I among others, sharing the disbelief.

Yes, actually. My gf became distant and said she had to decide if she wanted to continue. She said there was too much other stuff going on in her life that she just couldn't handle having a boyfriend right now. That was her excuse anyway. I don't really believe it. So anyway on Valentines day she made her decision that she didn't want to see me anymore. Luckily we weren't going out that long. She was absolutely great up until the beginning of february. Things went down hill from there. Gee, she could have told me the day after.

My friend's wife died in a hospital on Valentine's day. We were all there to watch her pass away. I'd call that a permanent breakup. We just had the funeral yesterday.
