I have a digital camera (Vivitar ViviCam 5386). Usually, I just plug it in and press the "on" button. Then the blue light on front blinks and the little pop-up box opens on the computer asking if I want to upload the pictures, etc.

Today, I plugged it in and pressed the on button and the camera turned on (normally the blue light on the front would just come on and not the actual camera). The pop-up box is no where to be seen..neither is the blue light.

So what's up with my camera? Or is the computer the problem? By the way, I tried to upload them on two different computers (one regular computer, one laptop computer) and it didn't work on either one.

I asked this yesterday and they suggested that maybe my USB cord was damaged. I thought that might be the problem, however when I hook up the camera to the computer the computer "blings" when I plug it in. Does that mean the cord isn't damaged? If anyone can help..I'd be extremely grateful! :-)

First - reboot the computer and camera. Then plug in, maybe try the USB cord with your printer or something to make sure it is working fine. If it still not working, then I think your USB port on your camera might have a problem. Clean it then test it. make sure the cable is tight, and never never shake loose of the plug, always pull it out. Good Luck!
