Get caller id BUT you also will have to set the option on your carrier to NOT accept calls from people who block their number. If you do not do this it will just appear as anonymous and you still won't know anything. MCI is wrong too about not being able to trace the calls. If you call the police and report that you have been getting threatning or harassing phone calls they MUST put a tap on the line to detect who it is and you MUST agree to press charges after they find out who it is.

Hi
Yes caller ID would have helped.
In South Africa you get these small Caller ID screens that you connect to the line and all calls show there number...even before you pick up , you can see who is calling.
But if he withheld hes ID , you can open a case at the Police Station and they will summon the Telephone Company to reveal the number that have been dialling you. Its like a court order and they must or have to give the Info to them and they in turn will give it to you....
It works like this....All calls ..incoming or outgoing numbers are recorded on MAgnetic tapes ... so the Telephone Company has the Raw material always available and from there they siff through the data for your spesific number and then give the Police all the info on that calls ..incoming and outgoing....and even times to the second.

Don't answer it...Get a privacy director...It is a service offered by most phone companys and when ones number comes up as private it promps the caller to say his or her name to complete the call...When you pick up the phone you hear a automated voice that says...You have a call from *Plays recored name*.It works just like a collect call. You could always get *69,and it will tell you the last number that called....Hope I helped!Good luck!

My telephone has an option to reject anonymous calls. It's a AT& T 1855. If you don't like this type of phone, I'm sure other phones have this option.
Or
I know you may want to stay with MCI, but AT&T has a special department for this. Before I got my new telephone that rejects annonymous calls, AT&T gave me a code (*57 that gave them a report as to who was calling me (that was a few years ago)
Hopes this helps.

Say that you're from the FBI and you want to recruit them. Say that they won a prize and should go and collect it. Pretend that you're 3 years old and are playing with the phone^^ Pretend to be old and ask if they've seen your cat Pretend to know them and be like OMG hi fred! how've you been!? it's been ages! remember when you wet yourself in the sand pit when we were little?! Pretend to be old and thinking that u phoned the doctors because you're constipated and don't listen when they say that they're not a doctor ... the possibilities are endless :D i love prank calling lol do it from a phone booth to free 0800 numbers if you can, those are funny and you don't get caught hehe

the caller id is of no use any more, because we all have blocking buttons on our phones, the police can trace your calls if you have been threatened,
