Anyone that says wresling is a waste of time is crazy. Besides the guys you have listed, you can add Quinton Jackson, Sean Sherk, Dan Henderson, Matt Lindland, and a whole lot more. Those are just guys that are at the top of their game or are holding a belt right now. If you really want to know how important wresling is to MMA, you can look at the old days of the UFC when guys like Mark Coleman and Dan Severn came in and started tearing guys up. So yeah, if wresling is no good for MMA, A LOT of guys missed that memo!

Well in all honesty, you could get by with just Jujitsu, or boxing or anything. All the names you said at the top, they all were state wrestling champions, and collegiate wrestlers. And all held titles in mma. I have wrestled since i was 9 so i cant really think of any other way to grapple, all though i do know jujitsu. I prefer wrestling for take downs, and jujitsu for submission, cause with wrestling it is very hard to finish a fight.

Rampage Jackson, Fujita, Mark Coleman, Mark Kerr, Don Frye, Sean Sherk, Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock, Kazushi Sakuraba, and most of all Fedor Emelianenko (sambo is considered wrestling by the Internation Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles).
I think thats all the star power you need to shut anybody up.

Someone else must have forgotten the memo, because all of them have been champion in the UFC; that should kill the theory that wrestlers are no good in the UFC.

EVERY MMA FIGHTER incorporates SOME wrestling knowledge in their game.
To people who don't think I'm right: Name a fighter that doesn't use some wrestling technique, PLEASE!
JUDO, SAMBO, FREESTYLE, GRECO-ROMAN, CATCH, COLLEGIATE theres more to wrestling than what you may think.

Real wrestlers can whoop the crap out of UFC fighters. Look when Ken Shamrock went to the WWF how many times he got his butt kicked. He got beat so much he had to go back to the UFC.
