Some people even believe the bible is sufficient authority to prove their priesthood. but i have been taught that being called is NOT the same thing as being ordained, and if the entire christian world believes there is no priesthood to ordain, what Did Paul Mean by writing the letter to the Hebrews, ch 7?
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/heb/7/heb/7/11#11 Levitical
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/heb/7/heb/7/21#21 two priesthoods

so while i see the existence of two priesthoods I also see that Jesus ordained his disciples
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/15/16#16

so people who say they are of Jesus and ordination are Clearly not the same as being ordained.
but then i see the verse that compels the Jewish sons of aaron as having a perpetual priesthood.
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/15/16#16

but the verse that gets me all the time is that priesthood must ordained by the layiing of hands Like Aaron was. So if a person doesnt have this! do they have the priesthood?

Excellent question. Your logic is only exceeded by your grasp of the scriptures. :-)

I'm not a Mormon, but I can answer your question. Read 1 John 2:20 and 27, which references the fact that all believers are anointed by God. It is this anointing (the receipt of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us) that transforms us into priests, as referenced at 1 Peter 2:5.

You are correct, there are two different kinds of priesthoods: the Aaronic priesthood, which (in the way described below) is eternal; and the Order of Melchizedek, under which we serve -- with Jesus as High Priest (which is also eternal). While a person is born into the Aaronic priesthood, a person can only enter into the Order of Melchizedek by God's anointing (grace). However, as explained at Hebrews 7, a change in the Law necessitated the replacement of the Aaronic priesthood with the Melchizedekian priesthood.

This concept does not conflict with God's promise to Aaron's descendents. In order to live through the 7-year Tribulation, a Jew MUST accept the New Covenant; otherwise, he or she will die. A male Jew who is a descendent of Aaron will be a Melchizedekian priest, just like we are now. It is these men (more accurately, ONLY those priests who are direct descendents of Zadok) who will serve God in the Millenial Temple.

God didn't say the Aaronic order of things (including Levitical sacrifices) was eternal; He said the PRIESTHOOD was.

What in the world are you talking about? Its very hard to follow what you are saying -
You say that Christians believe that they "have a priesthood"? What do you mean - that they think they ARE priests because they believe?
Thats goofy. I've never heard that in my life.
The Levit. priestline still stands - it will stand even after Christ returns. In fact, Christ in the
flesh was of two tribes - Judah, which is the king line; and Levite, which is the priest line -
Christ is both King and High Priest, forever.
Melchisedec WAS Christ, King and High Priest of the Rightious ones - or Gods Election.
Now, to be a Priest does require being ordained, of course, but someone who wants to be ordained a Priest today, is not going to become a Levite Priest or a Priest after the order of Melchisedec - unless they are of the bloodline of the Levites. You can't go to some goofy Christian college in Utah and suddenly now you are a Leviticus Priest - thats pompus, at best. Keep in mind I'm winging this, because your question is so crazy, please excuse me -
As far as being "called" goes - you can be called into the service of God, people have a calling to do ministries work, etc; and thats great; but the "called" or better put: "chosen"
are Gods Election, and nobody calls them out except for Christ Himself - sometimes they are referred to as "saints" in Scripture, which just means "set aside ones". You can't just decide to be one of Gods Elect, or "called" - The Election was chosen before this earth age -before Adam and Eve, when Satan rebelled and there was a great war; one-third of our people went on the side of satan; a great portion of others stayed neutral - and then there was a group who fought on the side of God, never faltering, never waivering ; loyal;
When Satan was defeated, this group of loyal children of God were named and called by God Himself - His "elect", and they were even judged right there and then - so, in this flesh age, the Elect are the only ones who do not have free will - they don't need it, they were already judged and named justified.
I think what you have is a whole lot of Bible truths, but all mixed together, confused, and then you've added to it God only knows what that you've heard from man. Remember! Don't listen to man, only to God - man will foul you up every time!!
I hope this has been helpful to you.

I believe in pre ordained, pre destination...it is biblical. And when in the Bible it says "Many are called and few are chosen" --this is pertaining to those who do hear the word, and yet only some receive it. Those who receive the gospel and believe were pre destined to. It is only by God we can accept His wonderful gift of salvation for as Romans 3:10 says "No one is good, not one and no one seeks after God"
Jesus says "Apart from me you can do nothing"

And John 6:44 says "No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day"
---God is the one who calls us and who has already predestined us to be saved--so when He does "call" on us, that means convicts us through His holy spirit, we receive it, He opens our eyes to His wonderful truth.
Because we have NO glory in salvation, God deserves it all! And we who are saved, those who "will" be saved according to the Lord's plan from the beginning because not only does He know who will be saved, But Romans 9 and Ephesians 1 explains we are predestined beforehand.....we are the royal priesthood as it says:
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
