You can certainly rent the dresses, if you can actually find someone to do it, the alterations will be very expensive (think almost the cost of a cheap dress) and your options are limited. You would need to get them altered because they most likely had last been tailored for someone else's body. Just like renting a tux. And the alterations HAVE to be done with them. You may be better off looking at David's and finding a less expensive bridesmaid dress plus if you buy your bridal gown with them, they will give the bridesmaids $30 off their dress. If you pick the right kind of dress, it shouldn't need to be altered. Also, don't make them get special shoes. No one cares about their shoes.
I paid $80 for my dress that I just wore to my friend's wedding, it didn't need to be altered (although I suppose it could have been) and I dyed it black after the fact and it is a cute summer dress that I can wear to a dinner. My fiance paid $130 to rent his tux from After Hours. You tell me who got the deal.

I didn't know you could "rent" bridesmaids dresses - if you could do that, I think EVERY BRIDE would choose that option! I don't care how cute and modern the dress is, most bridesmaids dresses will never be worn again. The downfall to having young girls as bridesmaids is that they can not buy the dresses themselves. You could however ask their mother to pay for their dress. If they are your children, you must pay for them yourself obviously. But I've never heard of a place that you can rent a bridesmaid dress. Good luck.

Bridesmaid dresses are usually worn only one time, doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on them, yet, you want them to look nice, right? Check out how much it would cost to rent the dresses for one night. Most of our bridal shops do that.

Depends- It was the same to rent the dress and buy it for my bridesmaids for me. It was $200 to rent a dress....
The cheapest way I have figure to do it, is if all your girls are in the same area- hit the mall after prom season when the dresses go on clearance. Try JC penny's, Deb shop, Bocovs, Macy's all the chains. I seriously got my bridesmaids dress for $35 at JC penny's and it was originally $300.

Depends on the dress. Some bridesmaid dresses rent for $60 but you might be able to find some dresses on sale for that much. Don't count out formal dresses as well. I let my bridesmaids pick out dresses once I told them the colors so they could choose something that they would wear again.

Rent them. You can get them all the same in the right sizes. Unless you have someone willing and very able to make them. But even in making them, you must weigh the cost of the material and thread, etc against rental price. I would say definitely rent.

Buy the dresses from somewhere you would normally shop for clothes.Dresses of all colours and styles are very in at the moment, and will only cost what you want to spend and still look gorgeouse, and i bet you would be able to wear those again too.
HOPE I HELPED.............
