Ah, Grasshopper...
In an infinite universe, there must be an infinity of things... So a tree that grows, say, ratchet screwdrivers is not out of the question. Just unlikely.
All of the theories about creation, evolution and design are viable... as theories, and, in many cases are mutually overlapping and easily combinable.
So there was a moment of creation. Let's even ascribe it to a deity. Perhaps he/she did so and allowed for variation, mutation and chance alteration through reproductive anomalies...
Pretty slick and intelligent design to use evolution from the start of creation...
Best wishes!

here's a good quote from Carl Sagan on religion.
As science advances, there seems to be less for God to do. What has been happening, is that evolving before out eyes is a ‘god of the gaps’, that is, whatever it is we can’t explain lately is attributed to god. And then after a while, we can explain it, and so that’s no longer in God’s realm; theologians give that one up and it’s now explained by science.
Newton’s gravitational theory replaced angels with GMm/r2. And in that transformation, God and angels were relegated to more remote times and distances; the history of science has done that repeatedly. There has been a lot of walking away from the micro-intervention in earthly affairs.

Brilliant.
As far as the creation of the universe, I am willing to debate god versus non-god with those who recognize that life, the universe, and everything evolved from the Big Bang. Debating 6000 year old magic versus non-6000 year old magic is getting tiresome.
P.S. I took the liberty of sending the link to the Nation Center for Science Education (NCSE). I think this deserves more distribution.

Actually I do regret wasting four minutes of my time on something that pointless. All that video proves is that some people will take anything and try to appy it to prove what they want to believe. The "theory" of evolution (macro-evolution, that is) raises an infinite number of questions regarding its validity.

OK, if one belives in evolution, you still don't know what the uncaused cause of existance is. Where did the universe come from?
