Is it wrong to have a child at 13?

I have a friend who has a kid at 13. The baby is 3. Is it wrong?

I don't want to place a moral judgment upon someone because of having a child while still being a child. Whoever took advantage of that young girls naivety is what's wrong there. Having a child at such a young age makes for that girl to become like an adult before growing into it. Even the most grown up 13 year olds are ill equipped by lack of life's experiences to begin adulthood at such an age. And yet to be a Mom and responsible for rearing another child, training them up in the way to go in life, at 13, one doesn't really know for themselves. Who robbed that child of the rest of her life! All the good years between 12 and 20 now have to be spent playing house for real and they'll be so very young when mother and child have both become of age. Wrong? Yes, in more ways than just one. But difficult and unfair are better ways to describe the situation.

It is too young to have a child, but I would not judge your friend for it. A child cannot even take care of themselves and for a child to be that young to have a child I am sure that she needs as much help as she can get. Many times when a child that young has a baby her parents will end up taking care of the child. I am not saying that this is the same with your friend. A child that young just is not mature enough yet to know the needs and wants of a baby. Just show your friend that you are a real friend and be there for her.

It is wrong because having a baby is women putting all their needs aside to care for the child first. When you are 13 you don't have a job, or a house of your own, and probably don't have a very serious relationship. This is no way to provide for a child.

She is too young. Her body physically is not ready to produce a child yes she can conceive but it could tear her body up or cause problems with delivering a baby. At ten years old she needs to be out playing as a child not having one, what is she going to tell her child when she is only 20 and her child is 10 does she want to be a grandma at age 20? I really hope her parents are there to help her but not rear her child for her, it is her responsibility now. If they take over and rear her child she is just going to get the impression "why not have more Grandma and Grandpa will take care of them"

So she had the baby when she was ten. I mean the "wrong" was already done. Your friend will have to deal with raising the child. But I think she already knows unless she was trying to get pregnant. Morally yes it is wrong but what can you do about it, the baby is already here.

If she had the physical ability to have a baby, then it is alright for her health. BUT, since your friend is probably not financially independent and mature enough to take this responsibility, it is not a good idea. The best option would be for your friend's parents to help raise the child.

I believe it is wrong to have a child out of wed-lock. Having a baby at that young age is way to hard. You couldnt raise it on your own. It is better to wait untill you and your hubby can enjoy it and be able to take care of it and appreciate it.

a 13 yr olds body hasnt finished developing although i know 13 yr olds that look a lot older i wouldnt say its right.
13 yr olds should be out hanging with mates not bringing up a baby theres plenty of time for that later in life :)

Wow... 10? Poor girl, don't judge her, you don't know her situation! But I do believe that 10, 13, 15, 17 are all to young to have a kid! You gotta grow up and learn things for yourself before you can teach them to others!!!
