Yes..God created you because He is Love and Love is best represented towards something or someone else. You are here because God loves you. Out of that love he gave the gift of free will. He wants you to come back to Him out of love, therefore you are solely responsible for spiritual well being.

It is completely safe, but it takes more responsability, off course its easier to say that by eating some weird bread, or by acepting someone on your heart you are saved, but its more greater and value by God, if you perform your own deedds, daily looking to get closer to him.

Yes it is. That's the purpose of FREE WILL. However, some people want to decide for others and confuse free will with Free Willie, thus, wants to decide our spiritual well-being for us.
