Sure, I've heard of it - it shows up every few days on Yahoo answers, and many other places. Many of the leaders pushing this end up in prison.

The people who say that the income tax is illegal are called "Tax Protesters".

Eventually, they all pay their taxes (and penalties and interest) and a vocal few end up in prison.

In the past two years, some very high profile protesters have been given free room and board compliments of Uncle Sam......and a brand new orange jumpsuit.

Yes, I've heard of it. It has been going on for years and years, and the courts shoot the argument down every single time. Income tax is not a volunteer tax, it is mandatory.
