Reporting answers?

I have an honest question for all NASCAR fans. Why is it that NASCAR fans are very quick to hit the report button on answers? Maybe questions too, I don't know. Are fans so thin skin that they can't take any ribbing about their drivers? Give me real answers, not "because that's how it is" type of answers.

There is a line that some answers should be reported. Racism is one of them. I made a comment about stupid questions and got reported.

Jamie McMurray Fan-I think it's funny. I was just wondering if someone else has insight as to why NASCAR fans are so touchy. My shop is full of fans. There, if you can't give it or take it you will be in a lot of trouble.

I would never report someone for making fun of other drivers because I realize that the driver vs driver smack talk is just that smack talk, that really has nothing to do with how I actually think about the drivers.

For example, Smoke is my driver and I like him because acts childish sometimes and it is entertaining. However, he is always honest about his feelings. But I realize that some of his views of other drivers' actions against him may not be right.

Nascar fans need to have a reality check about some of what the drivers say in their interviews and press conferences. The drivers, like any human being, have an honest opinion of all the other drivers even though they may act like they like and respect everyone during their interviews. So although people like Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards never seems to say anything bad about anyone else (except they will bad mouth Tony Stewart when everyone else is bad mouthing him) they do have some sort of opinion of everyone else they just don't say it.

Also, me and my friends have always joked that Michael Waltrip is gay because he seems to act very effeminate in interviews and his Dominos commercials. However, I realize that in reality he is married and has 3 kids so is apparently not really a homosexual.

It is funny the way some people are about "their" driver.I mean the best 43 drivers take the green on raceday.But to hear and read some of these people there are only 4 or 5 drivers.
Some are so head strong(maybe hung over from the last race) they would insult their own mother to make themselfs look or seem to know everything about racing.
I'll still pull for Joe Gibbs Racing and if someone insults any of the 3 drivers well thats their choice.I still know who I like and who I don't.So cheer for your favorite driver and" when the green flag drops the bullChit stops"
But if you insult their driver they will report you in a minute.

Well its jsut a part of racing having some drivers getting talked about for instance Jeff Gordon gets it alot and no one respects him even though they should because he is the best driver out there and has more wins and everything then all the drivers currently racing, the only two drivers that have more are Sr. and Richard Petty, the King of NASCAR. Now some answers as I said need reporting because of their content. If its about a driver then they don't need to unless you are saying something way inappropriate to everyone and its racial or something like that. I have seen answers to NASCAR questions regarding some races by certain names that are extremely inappropriate and offensive to those people they are talking about and to others reading that and they should be reported as racism is wrong.

I've never reported anyone for bad mouthing my driver. It's part of the sport. Some people take it too far, but I'm a fan of my driver and I respect other people's decisions to follow their drivers.

I don't think I've ever reported a comment here. When I do report answers (and that's usually in religion or LGBT), it's because someone is being blatantly mean and hateful. Not liking my driver, or even my sport, doesn't qualify. However, I have seen racist, homophobic, and "redneck-bashing" comments that spoil peoples' fun.

This is true, some people do take things too far when it comes to their drivers and even something as simple as believing something different from themselves. I could see something more along the lines of a racial attack or personal attack. This is a public place where people should be able to come and express their opinions . Good luck to you !!

Yeah I must have missed the memo of "nascar" fans reporting everything. Besides how are we going to know if we don't do it...?

I'm not going to report stuff on yahoo answers. Half the stuff I read is crap from people not researching or knowing what they comment about, so I just ignore it...

i wouldnt report any one ever. some people just think that they are better than others and there not. this place is for all questions and all answers if you dont like what some one wrote who cares . your not made to answer anything. and if you dont like it go answer a question some other place

i only report if the degrade Nascar fans in general ..by calling us gay , uneducated, ....its ok if you bash the drivers i like ..because i can take it...as long as you can take me or others bashing your favorites..the redneck part i can take because i am one and proud of it
