I've had a recurring problem with loud upstairs neighbors in my apartmnent complex. They play their bass really loud at different times of the day (day and night) and they like to stand outside on their balcony (right above my bedroom window) and talk at all hours of the night. They are NOT quiet about that. The thing is that they'll go for days without being noisy and then all of a sudden they'll decide to party hard.

About a month ago I spoke to the manager about this and he indicated that some of my other neighbors had complained as well. He said he would "read them the riot act" and I thought the problem was solved. They were quiet for about 3 weeks but now they're back at it again!

I don't want to seem petty but it is disturbing me and it's annoying to put up with. What should I do?

Complain to the manager again. If you pay rent, you deserve a quiet place to live.

Perhaps, you and other neighbors could get together, withold some rent money while the problem persists.

Also, if they are noisey after 10 PM, I believe you can call the police and have the cops quiet them down.

You could go complain again to the manager but most likely nothing of it will come of it sad to say but what they really care about is getting that rent money. So in other words if you feel confident enough go upstairs at a peaceful time and speak to your neighbors my best bet would be to go accompanied by a friend or maybe another neighbor who is also annoyed by this occurrence.

Well, if the manager isn't working, then call the Cops. They can get fined for Domestic Disturbance, or whatever it is called. Basically. you cannot drive down the road with your radio so loud it shakes windows, so if they are doing what they do at NIGHT, you should then get ahold of the authorities. They will fine them, and if they wind up coming out more than once, they will eventually get locked up.

I understand it is ok to have fun, but you have to respect others, and if they were only doing this during the day, I would say let it slide, but at ALL hours, I would definately get it checked out.

Had this problem with the building next to mine. Complained to the landlord (my building) complained to the police, called the owner of that building (found out through a friend) at the time of the occurrence i.e., 3 am 4 am 2 am, etc.

My upstairs neighbour and I had absolutely no resolution with this problem. Between us we were paying 1200.00 a month. We gave our notice the same day.

Just move not worth the aggravation. Thank your landlord for nothing.

Talk to your manager again, requesting that the problem be resolved. If they still are not quiet, ask that they be moved to a ground-level apartment in a different building or that you be moved away--at no cost to you.

i suggest to let the manager know that they are being too loud don't make your own loud noises because it aggs the on and makes them angry and makes them louder i learned this when my next door neighbor kept hitting the wall i banged the wall louder but i only agged her on and made her angry now she wont stop hitting the wall i suggest to tell your manager and he will get your neighbor to stop or he or she will be evicted

I've had that same problem. We moved. If you want to stay, see if you can move to a different part of the building.

I work at a property management company as a rental agent and we always suggest that our tenants call the police. They document it and if it is repeated enough the offender receives a fine.

mine are the SAME WAY!! i just throw a tennis ball at the ceiling. ifeel like the guy on friends who always hits the ceiling with his broom. but im too scared to go up there and tell them to shut the F up!!

put an annonymous note on their door, saying "please quiet down....(blah blah blah whatever else you have to say,) and then sign it as "a neighbor" they wont know which neighbor it is.

First get a life...make some noise of your own. Unless you are a senior citizen it should not be that serious. Apparently they pay their rent/mortgage/whatever, just like you so they have a right to live according to their lifestyle. It sounds like you lead a really boring life and you dont even have the balls to tell them directly that you have a problem. Telling building managers, etc. is very juvenille. Those people are there for emergencies not personal issues. Try getting a hobbie or 2 or 3 or hey..heres a thought..join in their parties.
