I was shaving this morning and nicked my upper lip. It started bleeding a lot, and i kept some tissue on it for an hour. It still was bleeding a lot when I took the tissue off an hour later, but I had to go to work so i put a bandaid on it. (pretty funny looking) but now, 4 hours after the initial cut, when i pull the bandaid back it starts bleeding again! what can i do to stop the bleeding, or how much longer do i have to wait?

you should apply pressure to it for a minute or so..then put a bandaid over it again. it won't bleed forever, no worries!

Normally you could use a haemostatic / styptic agent
like styptic cotton, or alum (styptic pencil) to stop bleeding
caused by shave cuts on your skin.

But lips are quite a different matter,
and surely the upper lip :
Man, you would almost need a blood transfusion.
There is really no quick cure for that,
except perhaps for a tourniquet.

So the best thing to do is : use a good three (at least)
bladed razor to prevent bleeding.

I hope the bleeding has stopped by now?

You may need a "stitch" or your MD to apply some surgical "super glue".Problem is, every time you move your lips to talk or eat the cut breaks open, causing it to bleed more. It will be sore and sensitive for a day or so,avoid salty and "hard" foods until it has a chance to close etc. Take care. SW RNP

Soak the backside of a band-aid in Afrin nasal spray. Afrin (and the like) are a family of drugs known as vasoconstricors. In other words; they cause blood vessels to constrict...thus stopping bleeding. Leave the afrin-soaked band-aid on for about 30 minutes and that should take care of it. FYI...cocaine is the world's best known vasoconstritor and still used in delicate eye surgury procedures.
