I have some lines I need to find out the angles for, but I have no idea how to do this! (i'm at work too, so that makes this more important ahh)

I need them in the ***S 89°25'03" E*** format.

check your settings

Type in "DDUNITS"

under angles, check the format "surveyor units"

check precision to match what you want

then dimension dropdown
angular

It depends abit on what version and options you have.

I use LABEL and then label each of the lines. If you have your units set right it will give you the bearing(s) you asked for. But a bearing is not an angle. It is a direction. You can get the interior or exterior angle by subtracting or adding them (depends upon how the bearings relate).

im me if you are completely confused by this... I teach surveying and may be able to help you a bit more if I understand where you are heading with this.

Like was stated above, you gave a direction for a line. You have to be careful when finding angles between lines with bearings. Should you need to find an actual angle, you can always dimension the angle between two lines.

Type in UNITS and select surveyor's units for the angle type. After that, you can just use the list command and list the lines. If you need the angle between two lines, use the dimang command and it will label the angles. By the way, what you are asking for are not angles, they are called "bearings".

You can use the dimension toolbar to label the angles, then erase them once you have read the angles.
