My best friend has NF2. And it has made her disabled. She has has so many surgeries in her life.. she is deaf, and may be going blind too. Be lucky that you have a mild form!

I have NF 1 and while I consider my case mild, I have suffered so many complications as a result. More readily noticeable are the bumps, neurofibromas if you will. And yeah, I am weird. My husband also loves and accepts me as I am, but I still wish I didn't have it. There are several places like myspace and livejournal which have community support groups.

I am sorry that you deal with this also. My name is frippychick on yim if you ever feel like venting and you can also email me too if you want.
