In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

I have not heard that in a while, but I do know that there is a judgment of all people by God and some will be thrown into the fire and brimstone, which is Hell. Right know Satan walks to and fro on this Earth since he was sent down from heaven as the fallen angel, but near the end of Armageddon Satan will be in Hell.

Hell is not the grave, nor has Satan been banished there yet. Satan still walks among us, much like he did in the day when Jesus told Peter, "Simon, Simon, the DEVIL desireth to have you that he may sift you as wheat." Hell is an expansive place of eternal damnation that was created when Lucifer led the angelic rebellion and God defeated him. Satan will be banished there after the Tribulation for the duration of the Millennial Kingdom described in Revelation, then released for a season, then banished there for eternity at the Judgment. The grave was an alliteration for Hell for those who died in their sins. It's sometimes referred to in Scripture as "torments".

The grave isn't hell. Hell will be eternal torment where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Satan will be judged in the end and sent to the Lake of Fire...Hell.

Currently, Satan has taken residence on earth where he prowls around like roaring lion, seeking those he may devour.

Hell is the place of torment prepared for satan and his demons. It just so happens those who reject Christ will go there because they have no way to cover their sins. Satan now is "roaming the earth looking for someone to devour" He is active in our world and it is he that actively tempts us to sin. However Jesus will eventually deal with him because He promised to and thats just how He gets down.

Right here on earth. Read Revelatiion 12:12 and see for yourself. He used to be able to go back and forth from here to heaven but Jesus put a stop to that and since then, he has been in confinement along with all his demons in the place we call home.
