From what I've read, no earplugs do not cause a loss of hearing. I do know that not wearing them you'll lose some of your hearing if you work around a lot of noise. T ex. working in a factory with heavy duty machines that make a lot of noise. I use to work at a casino and a dry cleaning factory, I did not wear the earplugs and I do not hear very well. Of course this over a period of time but still my advice is to go ahead and wear them. You don't need to wear them all the time. Hope this helps.
