My boyfriend and I love each other to pieces, but we've been through so much, more bad then good... Should I keep holding on and hope things will get better, or should I just give up?

It's amazing, actually... I recently had to answer this question for myself. My fiancee and I had a really bad breakup (our first, and likely our last) over some relatively silly issues in retrospect. At the time, they seemed very important. Important enough for us both to do some very, very stupid things.

As for an actual answer to your question, it all really depends on two things: A) Do you really love each other and want to be together?; and B) Are you both willing to compromise to work things out?

To use my own life as an example again, with all of the problems my S.O. and I uncovered, it eventually came down to those two things. We love each other, and we very much want to be together. Most importantly, we both are willing to do what it takes to make it work. Bend over backwards both ways and compromise in every way. In the end, even if it doesn't work out, it is worth it. Even if it doesn't work out, we can say that we tried and that we do love each other, and we'll always be best friends.

And that's the worst-case scenario.

So, instead of asking yourself if it is worth it, ask yourself if you do love him. Ask yourself if you're willing to bend with him, if you're willing to give for him. And then ask him the same questions. It may not work out, but you will know the truth, and closure can be just as satisfactory as getting what you want.

It all depends on the situations that makes your relationship bad. If you both are willing to work on things then you never know, it might just work out for the best. I am married for almost 10 years now. Before that we separated for one year. That one year apart helped us realize that it was better off that we deal with the problems we had and go on. Now a days we don't even fight anymore...about anything. It really is unbelievable. Talk to him about how you feel. Maybe time apart will also help you. I wish you the best with your relationship.

all relationships have their share of ups and down, but when you look into the future and no longer see that other person with you..I would say it's time to move on..don't give up..too negative..just simply move on to better things.
Good luck ..make today the first day of your life!

It depends on how you look at it and what you want from life. Some people might say 'love is not enough' while others say 'all you need is love' No stranger on here can give you an answer to your question.

Ask him what he wants to do first. If you really love him, let him go. And he might come back to you if it is meant to be. My mom always told me that. It hurts but, sometimes it is the RIGHT thing.

I have a 'three strikes and you're out' policy. If anyone hurts me really bad they get a strike. After 3, they're out of my life. I do with with everyone. Would your boyfriend already have 3 strikes against him? If so, it's time to more on.

If you are no longer happy, it's time to move on. It's that simple. However, the past is the past, and if you are happy now, then it's worth a shot.
