Can giving each other "space to grow" ever really lead to a better relationship?

Or is it almost impossible to get back together?

Before everyone begins to assume that we want to see other people, we are facing some rough circumstances that usually cause people to NEED to spend a little time alone. Not that we don't need each other or want each other, but we need to handle serious personal business that one can only handle on their own accord.

Giving each other "space to grow" can lead to a healthier relationship. If there are issues that have to be resolved it can be a gift to have your own space to work through them. If a couple is living together or spending too much time together it can become a habit to blame things on each other and not to look at ourselves and what we have to fix in ourselves. This doesn't mean that you have to have everyday and everyday to yourself, just ration time so that you can get to know yourself. In those moments it is possible to understand things about your wants and needs and find ways to communicate them without putting the blame on others or hurting their feelings. Sometimes it can make a relationship much stronger. It can clarify whether you want to actually be with another person, whether it is healthy for you or not. It is a good time to recognise your insecurities and jealousies. But yes, I have tried it and it does work.

I use the whole "space to grow" ecuse to date other girls. To me its and out without actually giving up what I have just in case the grass isnt greener.

But to each his own, the definition can very between individuals.

But generally speaking, it will just ruin things cause tears.

If you truly love someone, why do you need space, do you want to see what else is out there? If so, then obviously you relationship is not working out. If they ask for it, then they must want something else. Do not expect someone to sit around and wait for you, or vice versa.
