I have torn apart tall table lamps that didn't work and put silk greenery and flowers in them for a vase and I have took apart an old hanging lamp and made a bird cage holder out of it an old door could be cut down and made into a table and old 4 paned windows with or without the glass can be made into a frame for a picture or actually 4 pictures! Or mirrors could be put in place of the windows also an old dresser drawer could be made into a under the bed storage box-just add wheels!! The possiblities are endless-if I knew what u had to work with I could help more-e-mail me if you like!!

Junk can make nice sculptures. Since you are the artist/designer then let your imagination run wild. If you used my ideas, then it would be my art piece and not what you are feeling inside. I have seen some pretty realistic designs like from old shovels and forks that have been made to look like vultures. Pieces from corn planters also can make nice designs. I have seen old crankshafts welded to things to make nice pieces too. Around here I take old wrought iron and shape it and weld it to make things for the lawn. Plant hangers, etc. Even the support for our bird cage I welded from an old bed frame. Sometimes when there is a need it is easiest to think of a useful project. Just let you imagination run wild.

Architectural junk is always fun to work with!

How about a collage using recycled materials. Take apart an old clock...the parts are wonderful. Get a canvas and layer text, parts, anything to do with TIME..

I had a similar project when I was at school. I made funky outfits out of bin bags!! Its surprisingly easy to do and bin bags come in all kinds of colours so you have lots of choice.
