hmm, odd question. I don't think it's any worse or better for boys or girls.
Each child is different and some flourish in the publicschool system, some flourish in the privateschool system, and some flourish with homeschooling.
Some students need discipline, schedules, structure, while some do better on their own.
Making educational decisions based on gender just seems, well, ancient to me. They did that in ancient civilizations, but this is 2007. Girls can handle it, boys can handle it. God gave both sexes brains, and the ability to use them.

That's a very strange question.
As with all things, it's going to depend. In this case, depend on the girl, the family and the school. There are good things and bad things about being a girl in public school.
I don't want my daughter in public school at least until high school. Our schools here are less than admirable in terms of what the girls dress like, their attitudes, their focus, their giggling, their constant desire to socialize instead of doing work, the boyfriends, even starting with the partying in junior high. It can be very tough to be a girl in school, too, because girls are more likely to form cliques.
However, some girls should definitely not be at home with their parents. Perhaps it'd be better for them to go to a more strict private school or to an all-girls program, but that's not always an option.

I think it depends on the school system. There are some that are so bad no one should attend.
If the public schools are not good, private school or Catholic school is the next best option. as a final resort, homeschooling is at least better a bad school system.
But if the public school system is good, absolutely they should go - it really is for their benefit.

Well, as we're in the homeschooling section I feel pretty confident in saying that I don't think any child should go to public school.
Doesn't matter if they are boy or girl.

I think That girls should go to public schoools if they feel like it im home schooled but i went to bublic schooles for 8 years and it was fine with me and i dont care to go to public school because you can get a little better education at home and you dont have to deal with peer presure or people who hate or dislike you! so follow your heart and make sure you make a right desision for yourself

Girls should definitely go to public school. Although private school may be a little bit safer, girls especially need to go to public school to learn about real life problems. In public school you have much more social situations that girls can use to learn major life lessons. Girls also need to develop a sense of style for when they go to college, or even to live on their own. I don't really think wearing preppy polos and ugly plaid is doing much for their self esteem.

I went to public school until the last two years of high school, and I wasn't affected. Of course, it was a tiny school...the high school had about 125 students, so everyone was really close.

NOBODY should have to go to public school. It is close to gov't-sanctioned child abuse. If you really want to know what their up to in those places, see the website below & read the e-book on it. IMO, if you can read it & still send a child to p.s., you either have no heart or no scruples.
