Candy canes are usually made of: sugar, peppermint, oil and artificial colors. Depending on what type of oil they use, if it is not an animal by-product, then I would say, yes. They could be considered vegetarian.

As far as candy canes go, they're little more than sugar. You shouldn't be eating them anyway. (I should talk; I love candy canes!) I don't know if they contain animal products, but candy canes are on my 'out' list as I progress to a more healthy diet.

Yes, because they contain no meat by-products. They're sugar and flavor (either natural or artificial).
