It depends on what you mean by "crossed lines". If you're meaning your neighbors can use your phone line and vice versa, it's the phone company's problem. If you mean your phone won't work because the jack isn't wired properly, you can call an electrician to have them rewire it with the wires in the correct order. If neither of those are your problem, please explain more...?

Call your telephone service provider they should be able to check the line. Make sure you are there when they come out, that way you can recreate the problem when they are troubleshooting. Also this problem happens alot if you are in a office building and are using a cordless. Most likely what has happend though is that the cable is wet somewhere in a splice, and your line and another are bleeding over to eachother.

I guess you mean 'cross talk' when you say crossed phone lines.Cross talk is when you can hear other phone conversations on your line.All u can do about it is to register a complaint to your service provider.It has something to with improper design of telephone transmission line ,weather or electromagnetic interference due to to surrounding telephone cables.
