i have looked online for application for citizenship to the US and all i seem to find is applications for "children" "parents" not for "self"...my friend is from Canada and has lived here for 12 years she is trying to apply for citizenship. we cannot seem to find anything online even at the obvious .gov sites....anyone have any suggestions>>>thanks in advance

She needs an application for naturalization.

I find that hard to believe, but nevertheless.... Try contacting the INS office in the Federal office building of whatever city you or your friend lives in. Get someone on the phone.

ITs probably because you need a sponsor to become a U.S. citizen and that person would submit paperwork for you. Call the INS Service Center.

I highly doubt that they wouldn't have it on line. Try a different google search.

I hope your friend has been LEGAL all the time she's been here! If not, I KNOW that she has to go back to Canada to start the process.

You won´t find anything for "self" because you can´t sponsor yourself to become a citizen. Does she have a green card?
