It depends on the arrow: target or broadhead, the bullet caliber, range, and the location of impact.
I would rather be shot in the shoulder or leg with a small caliber than makes a small exit wound than a broadhead which creates a large exit wound.

If I had to be shot, let it be right between the eyes with a heavy handgun or high powered rifle round. The shock of the bullet shuts all systems down immediately. IMO it as close to instantaneous as you are likely to get. On the other hand, an arrow is designed to cut. The laceration of tissue causes bleeding and death come by exsanguination.
IMO that is not the best way to go.
As a hunter and retired military I have delivered death with rifle bullets, handgun bullets and arrows. Excuse me, "arrow". I will never do that again. I have permanently relegated my broad heads to storage and shoot only hay bails with arrows any more.

With the bow and arrows my little sister has, they won't deal much more than a broken bone. I'll take arrow.
I would rather take an average-sized bullet than get hit by an arrow shot by a longbow.

i think that a 22. short in the shoulder would be the least painfull, but id rather be shot by a shotgun at long range then a arrow or a bullet

You didn't specify whether or not I was going to be shot to die, or shot to live. If it were to be death by firing squad, then I would want to be shot by the most destructive thing possible as that would be the least painful and fastest. This would be a howitzer. If i wanted to live, it'd be the .22 cal. If it had to be an arrow and i wanted to live, i'd hope it came from a 30 pound bow with a field tip. If it were to die, i'd take the broadhead from a 175 pound crossbow.

A bullet does far more damage. If it is a question of staying alive the choice has to be the arrow.
But they would both really suck.

I will take a lead (preferably full-metal jacket ball round) over a arrow or knife anyday.
