You can in fact run more than 2 OS' on one box. The technology is called "virtualization".
The following is just one company and suite of products that allow the user to run multiple operating environments on a single machine:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vmware
In essense, they emulate a particular architechture by running a special program on your host system (let's say it's Windows, but it can be others as well). Then, you can start a program on that "virtual" machine that is a particular OS. I personally ran Solaris 10 on my laptop which in fact was loaded with Windows XP. It worked.
Please keep in mind that you would indeed run TWO systems at any given time -- that's different from having a dual boot option, which is trivial compared to this.

Create a dual-boot environment, it is a different setup depending on what Operating Systems will be used, just search for Dual Boot then what Operating Systems you will be using.

you must set up two different patricians
and switch when you must, but if you have Vista forget it, Vista is the worst when it comes to older tech.
if its windows 2000 and windows XP no problems.
