I need to get a relaxer soon, but the Optimum, Dark and Lovely, and Gentle Treatment products are less than satisfactory in my opinion. I do my own relaxing, don't really care for salons... I'd go to one if I believed they could do a better job, but for now I haven't really found any that I want to go to...Ever since a really bad highlighting incident I haven't been back to any "professional" . Anyone do their own perming? What product do you use? Oh, and I'm a no lye type of girl.

I always do my own relaxers; it's so much cheaper.
I like the Olive Oil made by Organic Root Stimulator; it's in a green box. I just put a new one in on Monday; it's made by Luster & it's call Renutrients. It worked well, but it seems to start burning sooner & I didn't like the conditioner as much as the Olive Oil but it got everything straight. I did like the leave in conditioner that came with the Luster one though.
They cost between $7 - $9.
It I had to choose between the two I'd go with the Olive Oil.

Have you tried no perm at all ? ive been using this product for almost 4yrs. now called caramel. it softens your hair so much to the point where you can wear it all natural or straight if you want.

i think olive oil has the best relaxer & products for after. its sold in every pharmacy/ walmart. hope this helps
